The Volen Group is sponsoring a blog writing scholarship open to all senior high school students in Duval or St. Johns Counties. Students interested in earning a little money for their continuing education are invited to submit a blog post for consideration.
Posts must well-written, interesting articles about our greater Jacksonville community. The entries can be about big things i.e. how traffic is changing in Jacksonville/Ponte Vedra or smaller items like best pet-sitters in the 33250 zip code. They can be funny or serious, they can be about food or football or any other topic that has relevant local aspects to it.
Criteria Overview:
500-1000 word article for the blog. Must include 2-3 relevant photos on the subject. Article must have a tie-in to your community. Examples of topics:
Eating Vegan in Jacksonville
A Guide to Thrift Store Shopping
What No One Ever Told Me When We Moved Here
An Interview with your favorite local X
Top 5 Nature Spots in St Johns County
The top 5 student writers will have their submission published on the Ponte Vedra Focus blog. The overall winner of the contest will receive a $1000 educational sponsorship sponsored by The Volen Group.Â
