KIPP Goldberg Scholarship Opportunity

In partnership with the Sheryl Sandberg & Dave Goldberg Family Foundation, KIPP will select 15 KIPP graduates each year to join the scholarship program as Goldberg Scholars


Goldberg Scholars will receive:

  • Stipends for critical expenses outside of tuition and room & board that are necessary for a successful college career.

  • A Goldberg Mentor who will provide advice and ongoing support throughout the duration of the scholarship.

  • Support from the Goldberg Connectors, a network of professionals who will help students secure summer internships and job opportunities.

  • An invitation to attend a leadership weekend to engage in professional development, build skills, and connect with other Goldberg Scholars, mentors, and industry influencers.


Ideal Candidates:

Selected scholars should demonstrate the qualities Dave Goldberg exemplified throughout his life and work, including:

  • Independent Thinking/Entrepreneurial Spirit

  • Character

  • Resilience

  • Leadership

  • Achievement


How to Apply:

Applications for the 2020 class of Goldberg Scholars are open from October 2, 2019 until January 17, 2020. Selected scholars will be notified in April 2020. As part of the program, scholars will join the annual Goldberg Leadership Weekend June 11-14, 2020 in San Francisco.


Eligible graduating high-school seniors are invited to apply by January 17, 2020 at 11:59pm PT. Application must include:

  • A resume

  • Academic Records (including most recent transcript in senior year)

  • Two reference letters (including a KIPP teacher or KIPP Through College advisor)

  • Three short essays
